UPDATE TO THIS SITE ON MARCH 5, 2010

CLASS NOTICE MAILING HAS GONE OUT ON MARCH 4, 2010

You should receive that mailing.  If you do not please contact the Claims Administrator, Rust Consulting, at 866-208-5274.  Do NOT contact the attorneys running this website to update your address or obtain a copy of the notice mailing.  You must contact Rust Consulting for assistance with those issues.

That mailing contains a description of your rights in respect to the proposed settlement.  It also contains a tax reporting form for you to return to the Claims Administrator so any settlement payment you will receive can be properly handled and reported for tax purposes.  If you have previously properly filed with the Court a consent to join this litigation you do not need to file any paperwork to be entitled to a settlement payment but your settlement payment may be delayed, or extra and unnecessary tax withholding taken from your settlement payment, if you do not return the tax reporting form.  If the settlement is approved a check will be mailed to you at the address possessed by Rust Consulting.  If you wish to find out if you are recorded as properly filing a consent to join this case with the Court you should contact Rust Consulting.

UPDATE - PROPOSED SETTLEMENT OF AOL COMMUNITY LEADERS LITIGATION

AOL has agreed to settle this lawsuit subject to Court approval.  In early January 2010 the Court will be asked to direct a mailing to former Community Leaders who previously agreed to join this case and to Community Leaders residing in New York, New Jersey, and Ohio who have not joined this case explaining the proposed settlement and their rights, including their right to make claims under the proposed settlement or exclude themselves from the proposed settlement.  A final Court hearing to consider whether to approve the proposed settlement is expected to be scheduled for sometime in April of 2010.

If you have questions about the proposed settlement you may send an email to  attorney at aolclassaction.com.  NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE!   DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROPOSED SETTLEMENT WILL BE IN THE  MAILING THAT WE ANTICIPATE THE COURT WILL AUTHORIZE IN JANUARY OF 2010.

Thousands of persons have performed unpaid "volunteer" work for America Online during the 1990's and through June of 2005 when AOL terminated its "Community Leader" program. In 1999 a group of former AOL Community Leaders ("CLs") filed a class action lawsuit against AOL seeking the payment of minimum wages for the valuable work they performed for AOL.  This web page is maintained by the attorneys representing the CLs who filed the lawsuit.
